CLUB AWARDS FOR THE 2012 SEASON

The Club awards will be held on next Friday evening the 24th May in the Clann Lir starting at 8.00pm. The 2012 season was another interesting time in the life of the Club. The awards are sponsored by McNulty Coaches/travel and many thanks to them for their continuing support.

IORRAS (B) COME FROM BEHIND TO GRAB FIRST THREE POINTS

Iorras Aontaithe (B) recovered from been 2-0 down in the first half, in the forth round League one encounter away to Conn Rangers on Sunday 19th May, to grab their first three points of the season with a final score: Conn Rangers 2 Iorras Aontaithe (B) 3. Three second half goals from Eric O’Reilly (2) and a debut goal from new signing, Chris Barrett. The third goal was from a free from Eric to clinch all three points. Erris United (B) are making a habit of coming from behind, they did so against Achill Rovers recently.

HOME & AWAY

Its a case of Home & Away in round one of the Connacht Gold Cup. The Super league outfit are away to Charlestown Athletic (B) on Sunday 26th May with a 2.30pm kick-off.

But before all that, Iorras Aontaithe (B) will take on Fahy Rovers at home on Saturday evening the 25th May with a 6.30pm kick-off. The best of luck to all.

IORRAS (B) PROGRESS IN R1 OF TONRA CUP

Erris United (B) progressed to the second round of the Tonra Cup away to near neighbours, Achill Rovers on a score of Achill 2 Erris 3 on Sunday the 12th May. At the break the home side were, 2-1 in front, Brendan Murphy scoring for Iorras but in the second half the inspirational Gareth O’Malley scored twice to secure their place in the next round.

In the FCS Divisional cup Iorras Aontaithe are at home to Castlebar Celtic in Round one, kick-off at 7.00pm on Thursday evening the 23rd May.

IORRAS HIT CELTIC (B) FOR 5

Iorras u13s recorded a 5.1 victory over Castlebar Celtic (B),despite starting brightly. Iorras didn’t play well in the first half and with the scores at 1-1 at half time, but after few stern words and encouragement from Eric and Sean Iorras put in much better second half performance.

The Iorras boys were easy winners in the end, Iorras u13 currently sit top of the Division One table, keep up the good work.

IORRAS As, CONCEDE LATE EQUAILISER

A late goal in injury time gifted Ballyheane a share of the points at wind swiped Carne Nash on Sunday 28th in the Super league, result, Erris United 1 Ballyheane 1.

Iorras Aontaithe, penalty on the hour.

This was a very close run encounter with both sides battling for control for the middle of the park all through the opening half with no real good efforts on goal from both sides, so the half ended 0-0. In the second half Jason Boylan was introduced for the injured Eamon Carey shortly followed by Kyle O’Reilly and it brought some change to the Erris mid field and on 60 minutes Ballyheane conceded a penalty which David Reilly converted.

Ballyheane, equalised in injury time

Ballyheane continued to press the Iorras defence for the equaliser and equally, Erris were looking for their second goal with Mark Gilbert, Kyle O’Reilly and Thomas Murphy making good effort. But as the clock ticked down, Ballyheane substitute, Arek Tobiasl grab a point for the visitors.
